Few states in the U.S. share the intrinsic bond with the NFL that Florida does, with three franchises within its lines and some of the greatest teams in league history calling the region home.  

For the three head coaches of the Jacksonville Jaguars (Doug Pederson), Miami Dolphins (Mike McDaniel) and Tampa Bay Buccaneers (Todd Bowles) — the trio’s success on the gridiron with their respective teams has been all over the ballpark.  

Some, like McDaniel of the Dolphins, rank among the league’s best against the spread, while others (like Bowles of the Bucs) rank near the bottom.

Where Florida’s 3 NFL Head Coaches Rank ATS

The statewide NFL leader in cover percentage is McDaniel, who posted a 10-8 mark ATS in his first season with the Dolphins.  

McDaniel’s 55.6% cover percentage ranks tied for eighth among NFL coaches, alongside Sean McDermott of the Buffalo Bills and behind Brandon Staley of the L.A. Chargers (55.9%). Both McDaniel and McDermott rank ahead of Denver Broncos head coach Sean Payton (54.8% cover percentage).  

The other two NFL head coaches in Florida (Pederson and Bowles) ranked 23rd and 28th in cover percentage, at 50% and 42.6%, respectively.  

As for the pair’s total record ATS, Pederson has gone 52-52-1 with the Eagles and Jaguars, while Bowles has posted a 31-44-7 mark with the Cardinals and Bucs.  

As for the season ahead, oddsmakers at BetMGM Sportsbook list the Dolphins win total over/under at 8.5, with +165 odds on the under and -225 odds on the over.
